SUPPLEMENTARY TESTS
WHAT TESTS WILL WE PERFORM?
In the consultation we carry out complementary tests indicated by your pulmonology specialist doctor to achieve a better diagnosis. We detail them below:

Pulse oximetry
Sat O2 + FC
Non-invasive procedure, which determines the percentage of oxygen saturation of hemoglobin in blood and the heart rate of a patient with the help of photoelectric methods.
It consists of placing a clamp on a patient's finger. Preferably without enamel.

10 €

Respiratory polygraphy
Snoring and sleep apnea
It allows evaluating the presence of apneas, snoring and oxygen saturation during the night for the diagnosis of SAHS (Sleep apnea and hypopnea syndrome).
A nurse will give you instructions on how to place the machine. It is done at the patient's home. Includes follow-up visit and report.

150 €

Nitric oxide test
FeNO
It is used to assess the degree of inflammation of the airways. The test involves measuring the level of nitric oxide in exhaled air.
The test involves asking the patient to perform a sustained exhalation through a mouthpiece and must maintain air flow within ranges that appear on a digital display .

Complete respiratory functional tests.
Lung Volumes.
Pulmonary Diffusion and letismography.
Test performed to determine lung capacity and the degree of disease involvement of the patient. It measures the gas exchange in the lungs and evaluates how oxygen passes from the lungs into the blood.
Price:
€ 75

Cooximetry
CO CHeck
Test that determines the level of carbon monoxide ppmCO (concentration of carbon monoxide per million) in the exhaled air from the lungs. It allows us to obtain results that are easy to interpret, which will allow us to work with smokers, obtaining great awareness.
Price:
30€

Forced spirometry
FVC + FEV1 + FVC / FEV1
Lung function study, which measures respiratory volumes and flows, that is, the ability to accumulate air in the lungs and to move it.
The test consists of requesting the patient to perform a forced exhalation through a single-use mouthpiece with a bacterial filter.
Price:
€ 25

CPAP
Continuous Positive Pressure in the airways.
Once the presence of apneas or a high number of snoring has been confirmed, a test is performed to assess the adaptation and effectiveness of the treatment using CPAP.
A nurse will give you instructions on how to put on the machine. It is done at the patient's home or in consultation.
Price:
150 €

Allergy tests
Prick test
Skin allergy test that is done on the skin to identify the substance that can trigger an allergic reaction in the patient
It consists of applying a drop of the allergen pneumogen to the forearm skin and puncturing the area in search of possible allergies.

Bronchoprovocation tests
Induced by effort
The objective of this test is to check whether after doing physical exercise (running on a treadmill), bronchial size decreases and assessing lung function before and after exercise.
The patient should run at a fast pace for about 6-8 minutes from start to finish.
A forced spirometry will be performed and HR will be measured before and after.
Price:
70€

Bronchodilation tests
Bronchodilator drug
Assessment of improvement in lung capacity.
The test involves administering a bronchodilator drug through a chamber inhaler. In addition, forced spirometry will be performed before and after.
Price:
€ 40

ECHO
Thoracic Ultrasound
Non-invasive, rapid painless test, in real time that is performed in the same doctor's office.
It is used to assess injuries or alterations such as (consolidation, pleural effusion, lung edema and pneumothorax).
Its main advantages lie in the absence of ionizing radiation in the patient.
Price:
€ 60

Electrocardiogram
ECG
Test that records the electrical activity of the heart that occurs with each beat.
The patient is placed in the supine position and consists of applying electrodes to the heart area and clamps on the 4 extremities, all connected to a wiring system to receive the patient's cardiac record on a screen.
Price:
€ 15

Walking test
6 minutes
Test that allows to measure tolerance to effort and to assess if there is any degree of limitation.
It consists of measuring the maximum distance that a person travels on a flat surface in a time of 6 minutes.
Blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation will be taken before and after as well as assessing the degree of dyspnea on exertion.
